The Before Times
This publication once employed a full fictional newsroom: reporters, an editor-in-chief, a gossip correspondent, a stats columnist, and a serialized fiction author whose prophecies remain unresolved. They are gone now. What follows is the record they left behind.
Read the current column →The archives are coming.
Digitizing decades of fictional journalism takes time. The microfiche reader is temperamental. Skip Rowland, who knew where everything was filed, has been let go.
The Before Times will be here when they are here. In the meantime, the Column is live and George Wicks has things to say about the present, which is frankly more alarming than the past.
Check back. Or don't. The archives will still be here either way, which is more than we can say for press freedom.
